Good Health Guidelines

For people with heart disease, it’s important to make sure the following
tests are kept current and to discuss these topics with your doctor:

1 Having a lipid profile done once a year.
2 Having your blood pressure checked at every office visit.

3 Screening for diabetes once a year, or every three years if your blood sugar is reading normal.

4 Reviewing your medications.

Talk with your doctor about ways to:

1 Eat a healthy diet.

2 Manage your weight.

3 Get regular exercise.

4 Get help to quit smoking.

* Always check with your health care provider before making any changes to your health regimen.

These guidelines are not a substitution for a doctor’s care and guidance.

Also, check with your benefits plan to be sure it covers any course of treatment.
